Prepare your finances
There are lots of resources around Florida to help you plan for an emergency and we recommend you take advantage of all this information as you make plans for your family’s safety. JAXFCU has a team dedicated to keeping the critical systems in place that provide security and access to your accounts. We’ll also keep you informed throughout any emergency situation. But there are a few things you can do now to avoid difficulties later….
Cash Tips:
- Take your Credit Cards and Debit Cards with you
You can always get a cash advance or use your credit/debit card for emergency purchases or travel expenses. Don’t forget that you need a PIN (Personal Identification Number) to receive cash from ATMs. Most financial institutions offer cash advance features in their lobby. Just ask a teller and be sure to find out upfront if there are any fees involved. Also, keep in mind…most cards have daily limits.
- Use FREE ATMs
Visit one of our 25,000 surcharge-free ATMs to avoid unwanted foreign ATM fees. Go to the Co-op Network to print the surcharge-free ATMs along your evacuation route and keep the list in your hurricane kit.
- Visit a Shared Branch
Your JAXFCU accounts are accessible at over 2,200 shared branching locations nationwide. These partner credit unions accept deposits and offer check cashing, withdrawals, transfers, loan payments, money orders, travelers checks and ATMs.
Print the Shared Branch locations along your evacuation route and keep in your hurricane kit (Search by city or zip).
